About Ursa Majors
The Ursa Experience is a three-day, two-night extended orientation program intended to help new students transition to MSU.
Ursa Majors are student facilitators and group leaders. They play a critical role by helping immerse incoming MSU student participants (called Ursa Minors) in campus life, self-discovery, and community-building to jump-start their college experience.
Ursa Experience Majors must fulfill the following requirements to be considered for the position:
● Hold full-time student status (12+ credit hours) for the Fall 2026 semester
● Possess and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.55 or higher
● Attend the dates of the Ursa Experience: August 10-12, 2026
● Attend Spring Training Session on April 11th, 2026 and Summer Training on August 9th, 2026.
● Possess love and enthusiasm for Missouri State
● Possess knowledge of Missouri State University and campus traditions
● Demonstrate leadership skills through current and previous campus involvement and positive representation of Missouri State University
In addition, all applicants must participate in an individual interview with New Student and Family Programs staff to be considered for the position.
